National Recognition
- PAL Canada is a national body that represents the interests
of members across Canada. Benefits to Chapters extend outward to all
members.
- LOGO: PAL Canada grants permission to the Chapters
to incorporate the phrase "PAL" (Performing Arts Lodge) in their
titles. This phrase and the PAL logo offers all Chapters recognition
and credibility that has been established over the last 20 years.
- PAL
Canada led the way in planning and developing affordable housing for
our community. The "Caring for Our Own" slogan has become a reality
with 3 PAL Lodges currently operating and others in various stages of
production.
- High standards have been set for the provision of
affordable housing for members of the professional and performing arts
community of Canada.
- The value of the PAL concept is
clearly demonstrated by the number of Chapters across the country that
now espouse these goals. In other contexts this "value" would be termed
"good will" and would carry a tangible price tag.
Network for communication
- Web site: a vehicle for Chapters and members to share information and learn from the others' experiences.
- Chapter Support and Liaison Committee: provides direct links between Chapters and members.
- Palingenesis: National newsletter reaches each member with news of Chapter activity and national issues.
Financial assistance
- In their initial stages, before achieving charitable status,
PAL Canada has given seed money which has been of great value to new
Chapters.
- PAL Canada is able to access national sources of funding which can be of benefit to the Chapters and their membership.
- Discussions
with three other national organizations is in process in the
preparation of a major long-term Joint Fundraising Project. This
initiative will address the social needs of performing artists.
- Through
their representation on the Board of Directors, Chapters can be
actively involved in the affairs of PAL Canada and help determine its
direction.
This website has been made possible through the generosity of the
Charles H. Ivey Foundation with matching funds from PAL Canada.
